Janice has been a nurse for over 40 years.  She has worked in Colorado, Hawaii, California, Ohio, Indiana, and now Oklahoma.  She has worked in nine different hospitals, mostly in the PeriAnesthesia area.  She still enjoys going to work each day and caring and advocating for her patients.  In her spare time, she likes to travel and read.

Jacque Emperly, RN has been an RN for 30+ years. She began her career in NICU and PICU, then went to outpatient surgery about 15 years ago. She began in PACU, then transitioned to pre/post with a job change. Phase 2/post op became her home. She received her CAPA certification 3 1/2 years ago. She wishes she had done it much earlier. It opened up so much knowledge and the opportunity for continued education. She currently lives and works in Edmond.

With over 25 years of nursing experience, Sarah brings seasoned clinical expertise and a strong commitment to patient-centered care to her role as Manager of the Outpatient Surgery and Pre-Anesthesia Unit at OU Medical Center. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing Administration at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center College of Nursing.

Sarah is an active member of both OSPAN and ASPAN, and is committed to advancing PeriAnesthesia nursing at both the state and national levels. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her son and family. Much of her free time is spent cheering from the sidelines at her son’s games and staying busy with school and sports activities.

Cathy has 28 years of experience in the perioperative setting and has been CAPA certified since 2011. Cathy currently works at the OKC VA Medical Center as the Nurse Navigator for Dermatology Services Services and served for two years as the Chair of the Evidence Based Practice Committee.  She completed her Master’s degree in 2017 with an emphasis in education and enjoys teaching as an adjunct professor at Oklahoma City University in the RN-BSN program. Outside her professional career, Cathy enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her husband, two grown sons, and five grandchildren.

Ashley is a dedicated PeriAnesthesia nurse with clinical experience in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and a strong passion for pediatric nursing and patient advocacy. She is currently completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and plans to pursue a Master of  Science in Nursing with a focus on education. Ashley serves as a Director-at-Large for OSPAN and is an active member of ASPAN, where she is committed to promoting professional development and supporting the next generation  of PeriAnesthesia nurses.   Outside of work and school, Ashley enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, and finding creative ways to stay organized and inspired.

Barbara has been a nurse for 20 years, all in the pediatric space. She has worked in the    Pre Op unit at Children’s for the past 11 years and has been supervisor of the unit for the past 5 years. Barbara earned her CAPA certification 4 years ago. When she is not  working, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and spin.

Tianna’s nursing career, began with graduation in 2004, from the University of  Kansas, and has evolved from pediatric care to adult MedSurg, encompassing ortho/neuro  trauma. In 2011, Tianna discovered her calling in PeriAnesthesia, working in Preop, PACU, and Phase 2.  After enjoying several years as a travel nurse, she is now a dedicated member of the outpatient surgery team at OU Health."
